IBR9000®
The iBR9000 is the newest in a family of iButton readers from Videx. Small and lightweight, yet extremely durable, iBR9000 is ideal for use in any checkpoint application where you need to know who was there, and when they were there.
iBR9000 iButton reader easily fits on a keyring, in a pocket, or on a lanyard. Its light weight and ergonomic design make it easy to hold in the hand and read iButtons—no more heavy readers prone to drops and damage!
The high-impact fiberglass-reinforced nylon case provides exceptional protection to the electronics inside, and the read head is made of stainless steel. This reader easily withstands repeated six-foot drops.

The “9000” part of the name refers to the number of iButton reads the iBR9000 reader stores in memory between downloads to the computer.
Transferring this stored data is easy: the iBR9000 reader makes an infrared connection directly to an infrared port on a laptop, to our USB-to-infrared device called the IR Encoder, or even to a Windows Mobile PDA cell phone in the field. With each read of an iButton, iBR9000 beeps, flashes an LED, and stores the data in memory with a date and time stamp.
The reader is powered by a CR2 3-volt lithium battery just like those in a camera, which means the batteries are inexpensive, easy to find, and easy to replace in the field. The memory in the reader is non-volatile, so you will not lose stored data if the battery is removed. A single battery will last as long as one year, or provide over 75,000 continuous reads, before needing replacement.

Two software solutions are available: a desktop version and a server version.
The desktop version runs on a PC or Mac, and is the best option for managing a single system. The server version can be accessed over the internet, and is ideal for managing multiple clients as a service.
The iBR9000 software allows you to easily identify your users and cross-reference the button ID’s with meaningful data. The Audit Trail shows the data downloaded from the reader, and can be exported for additional reporting.
